Interviews about festival

The festival has just begun and festival attenders are ready to share their opinion and impressions about the festival and Bukhara itself. To be honest, I did not except such kind of warmness and curiosity of other people towards Bukhara. Moreover, it would be proper to share the dialogues we had, the staff we talked about.

SAM_0784The first tourist I was blessed to take an interview was an Indian guy, Rajesh Gupta, and his positive vibes still holding me in the highest point of happiness despite the boiling hot weather. While asking him questions, I learned that Indian people are really curious about Uzbeks, as Uzbeks are about Indians. It took about fifteen minutes to find a place and prepare for recorder to be ready, yet still he was patient and enthusiastic about being questioned.

He said: “It is not the first time I am attending Bukhara. It is nice that traditional Silk and Spices Festival annually held in Bukhara. The historical places and hospitable people make this festival colorful. I am sure that I will be coming the next year too. I cannot miss this festival.”

In addition, I got a chance to talk with an Ukraine trader, Mikhail Kametskiy. As he mentioned, he was interested in festival because it was connected with a field of his work. He confessed that Uzbek craftsmen always impress him and gets enriched with ideas. His last words stuck in my mind, and I want to quote his words:

“Traditional Silk and Spices Festival never fails to impress me. It really challenges me to see people’s attitude and I always question myself, what a country it is. It’s places, people and even the hot weather makes a person to fall in love with Bukhara.”

Not only tourists but also native people of Bukhara are enthusiastic, exalted and happy-go-round. In upcoming articles, we will inform you with impressions of native people.
